Wednesday, November 17, 1976 Section 3 19 by bite mark Belated suspect denies slaying girl RICHARD MACEK, a belated susin 1972 murder of 14-year-old Sally Kandel, has denied that he committed the crime, the Du Page County state's attorney reported. State's Atty. Mark Kowalczyk said Tuesday that Macek, 29, convicted rapist and accused killer of two, denied the -Kandel murder last week when interviewed by Du Page County officials in the psychiatric unit of the Wisconsin State Prison at Waupon. Though another man was convicted of the Kandel murder, Macek's name was linked to the case in recent weeks when a dental expert in an unrelated case reported that a bite mark on Miss Kandel's body was made by Macek. This touched off a feud between rival dental experts, since the bite mark on Miss Kandel's body had been part of the evidence that helped convict Richard Milone, 24, a Wheaton resident, of her murder.
